even though i sent ALL the necessary documents to the necessary people in colombia over 2 weeks ago, i get an email saying my visa won't be ready in time and i need to change my flight. 

everything has to be a big pain in the ass with getting me down to colombia doesnt it?

fuck. maybe i should just give up.

the downside of colombia.

the one thing that makes me sad to leave is the fact that i will be missing the presidential and vice-presidential debates and the atmosphere it will create here in the states. i need to find an american bar or an individual with access to a tv who is for some reason really into american politics or steady internet connection so that i can stream it online. 

but i got a while til i have to worry about that...

nomad lovin in nyc

after almost a year of blog stalking i finally got to meet the fabulous molly reddy. amongst the aiesec talk and advice about how to handle myself in medellin we were discussing the difference between how we seem in our blogs and how we are in real life. she said in my blog i seem more secure and having a handle on my shit (vulnerable time in life, explanation can be found here) while i said in her blog she seemed as if she would be shorter and a dark brunette (well, i didnt tell you about the brunette part molly, but i was thinking it :))

moral of the story: dont judge a book by its blog. and meet all the fabulous nomaders you can.

my to do list

1. obtain international health insurance [check]

2. buy round trip plane ticket [check]

3. photocopy passport [check]

4. arrange for airport pickup [check]

5. send everything over to colombian mc to obtain visa [check]

6. do a little dance [check]

as of sept 10 i will be a working woman...in medellin colombia :)

ill post more about my AMAZING birthday complete with pictures later but i just wanted to put it out there that...I GOT MATCHED!!!! im off to medellin come late august and will be there for a full year :) 

all i have to say is fuck yea!

this is why i love my birthday...

its 2 hours into my birthday and ive already laughed so hard my stomach hurts and tears have run down my face...4 times. my birthday is the one day nothing ever bothers me...its my own personal new years celebration where i reminisce about the past (the good parts anyway), fully enjoy the present, and prepare for a fulfilling year. this day is no exception as i am celebrating it in ithaca with cynthia, abbey, and julia. this i have made an amazing group of girlfriends in a relatively short amount of time, yet i know these girls are going to be a huge part of my life from here on in. and here is a tribute to what is shaping to be another incredible day of birth experience:
